Full course description

Supporting Children in Online Environments: Reflective and Play-Based Approaches

Description:

This course examines how educators can support children’s social and emotional well-being in online learning environments during times of crisis and uncertainty. Emphasizing safety, connection, and belonging, it explores strategies for creating responsive and emotionally supportive virtual spaces. Central to the course is the role of reflective practice, encouraging educators to critically examine their own responses, assumptions, and teaching approaches in order to better meet children’s diverse emotional and developmental needs. Drawing on play-based and relationship-centered approaches, participants will develop practical strategies to foster resilience, engagement, and meaningful learning while navigating the complexities of remote and disrupted education.
