This practical course aims to introduce students to the effective use of information and communication technology in education (ICT). Learners will be able to have a better knowledge on the digital tools used to promote learning.
Course Description:
This practical course aims to introduce students to the effective use of information and communication technology in education (ICT). Learners will be able to have a better knowledge on the digital tools used to promote learning. The course is based on theories, philosophies, models, active methods, interdisciplinary, problem-based learning and project-based learning, and will take students from theory to practice.
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this course, the students will:
- Be aware of the changes in the education system through the use of ICT.
- Utilize ICT to achieve educational activities based on project-based learning.
- Begin an interdisciplinary educational system based on interaction to help students better construct their knowledge using educational technologies.
- Design an interactive lesson using appropriate digital tools.
Course Delivery:
The course will take place once a week for 2 hours and run for four weeks, where students will learn the theory and practice the tools.
Assessments include multichoice questions and the creation of E-portfolio that should include the implementation of the tools learnt in the course and applied in the workplace as projects.
Facilitator:
Dr. Heba Nuseibah is an Assistant professor at the Postgraduate Diploma in Education. Dr. Nuseibah received her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction with emphasis on Adult Education, Metaevaluation, and Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida. Dr. Nuseibah is tremendously dedicated to the field of education and educational technology, she is passionate about integrating technology into education. Her current research agenda focuses on distance education, higher and K-12 education, classroom pedagogy, instructional technology, and global cultural aspects.
Award:
Upon completion of the course, participants will receive corresponding PD hours and will get a completion certificate delivered by SEA.
Participants need to attend all the sessions in order to receive the completion certificate. Participants must complete any assignment and/or assessment and participate actively during the online sessions, with their webcam on.
