Course Description

A reflective dive into the application of 21st century skills and approaches inside the classroom covering five key topics:

• Effective classroom management
• Critical thinking
•  Concept and mind maps
• Effective lesson planning
•  21st century skills in the classroom

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will:

• Teach lessons that are effectively managed using active learning strategies and where learning is often differentiated.
• Evaluate current classroom practice and suggest improvement solutions
• Identify strengths and areas for improvement in classroom management
• Analyse strategies for implementing critical thinking skills and mind maps in lessons

Course Delivery:

The course will be delivered via live, online Zoom sessions over five separate sessions according to the dates indicated below

Facilitator:

Hesham Metwalli is the Director of Accelerator and Special Programs at Sharjah Education Academy. He is a Senior Fellow at the Australian Graduate School of Leadership. He was a founding member of the Dubai School Inspection Bureau where he worked as a Senior Inspector and led the community partnership projects. He then moved to Abu Dhabi as the Director of Inspections and Education Quality with Tribal Group. He has inspected, led, and managed the inspections of more than 350 schools across the UAE and MENA. He led the development of the inspection framework for Abu Dhabi government schools and contributed to the development of Dubai Schools Inspection Framework while working for KHDA and Dubai Government. He was involved in managing a national project for the Ministry of Education in the UAE to train and prepare 700 education reform leaders in collaboration with Pearson Education, the UK National College for Leadership and Nottingham University. He also held several senior education leadership roles in Australia.
