The Orientation Program for Teaching Standards

Welcome to Orientation Program for Teaching Standards in UAE. This program applies a blended learning approach combining face-to-face sessions, online self-study and independent distance work in individual and group modes. 

Course Description

This program aims to provide both novice and experienced educators with the necessary expertise and understanding to adhere to the Teaching Standards set by the UAE. It delves into the application of Teacher Standards 1 and 2, placing a strong emphasis on comprehending and effectively conveying the heritage and cultural values of the UAE, as well as tailoring learning and development strategies to accommodate the diverse needs of students. The course also encompasses Teaching Standards 3 and 4, addressing the assessment of impacts on student achievements and overall well-being, along with fostering self-reflective practices for ongoing professional development. Participants are required to develop e-portfolios to showcase their acquired knowledge, showcasing their proficiency in the field of teaching.

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, the student will have:

  • Identified the knowledge and effectively employed skills and competencies required to implement Teacher Standard 1.
  • An ability to communicate, understand and are willing to demonstrate the UAE heritage and cultural values as per government regulations.
  • Identified the knowledge and effectively employed skills and competencies required to implement Teacher Standard 2, including learning and development relations to the diversity of learners' characteristics and needs, pedagogical approaches and cultural values, and relevant policies.
  • Identified the knowledge and effectively employed skills and competencies required for effective implementation of Teacher Standards 3 and 4, including determining impacts on students' achievements and life and the ability to self-reflect to continuously develop versatile strategy and meet the UAE's strategic directions.
